The agreement between you and Emmaus Road Publications for using The Living Word.

Read the whole New Testament free, for as long as you like. Keep your notes. Quote what you read. What you may not do is take the text wholesale and publish it as your own, or feed it to a machine to be digested into someone else's product. Everything below is that idea, said carefully.
These terms are between you and Emmaus Road Publications LLC. By installing or using The Living Word: Amplified Study Point, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
The Living Word is an original work rendered from the Greek by its publisher. It is not a copy, an edit, or an adaptation of any existing English translation. The renderings, the amplified brackets, the Scholar's Notes, the Equipment Threads and the study apparatus are original scholarship and are the copyrighted property of Emmaus Road Publications LLC.
Permission is not hard to get. If you want to use it in a way this section does not allow, write and ask.
Reading is free and stays free. Your own notes and highlights are unlimited and free, always. A subscription opens the study apparatus.

All prices are quoted in US dollars (USD). Where a store or payment provider shows you a local currency, that conversion is theirs, and the amount on the purchase screen at the time you buy is the amount you pay.
Subscriptions are sold either through Apple's App Store and Google Play, or directly from this website, in the currency and at the price shown on the purchase screen at the time you buy. They renew automatically until you cancel, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Where you cancel depends on where you bought. If you subscribed inside the app, cancel in your Apple or Google account settings — we cannot cancel a store subscription for you. If you subscribed on this website, cancel by writing to info@emmausroadpublications.org, or through the link on your receipt from Paddle. On that route we can help directly.
Where a free trial is offered, its length, the price after it ends, and the fact that it renews automatically are all shown on the purchase screen before you agree to anything. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
Refunds follow the same split. For a purchase made inside the app, refunds are handled by whichever store took the payment, under that store's policy — we cannot issue a refund for a purchase we did not process. For a purchase made on this website, Paddle processed the payment as merchant of record; write to us and we will deal with it, and we will not hide behind a third party for a payment made on our own site.
Ezra is a study guide. It searches and explains the text of this work, and where it draws on the Greek, the lexicons or the historical record, it says so and points you to the place.
Ezra is not a pastor, a counsellor, a physician, or a lawyer. It does not know your situation. It can be wrong, and when it is wrong it will still sound calm and reasonable — which is exactly why every claim it makes is written to be checkable against the text. Check it. Nothing Ezra says is a substitute for Scripture itself, for the counsel of people who know you, or for professional care when you need it.
If Ezra gives you an answer that is wrong or troubling, there is a control in the app to flag it, and the flags are read.
The app carries emergency resources, and they are offered in earnest. But an app is not help. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. We provide those numbers as a courtesy and cannot be responsible for their availability or for what happens when you call them.
Use it for study, teaching, and your own walk. Do not attempt to break the subscription mechanism, interfere with other readers, or use the app to distribute anything unlawful. Where group features exist, treat what is shared inside a group as belonging to the person who shared it.
We intend for the app to work and for the text to keep improving. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we may change or discontinue features. If a change removes something a paid tier was sold on, we will say so plainly rather than let you discover it.
The app is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Emmaus Road Publications LLC disclaims implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they do not apply to you.
You may stop using the app at any time; cancel any subscription through your store. We may end your access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached — in practice, for wholesale copying or for attacking the app, not for anything you might do while reading.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, where Emmaus Road Publications LLC is formed.
Where the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country you live in gives you rights that this agreement would otherwise reduce, those rights apply and this clause does not displace them. We would rather say that plainly than write a term that quietly fails to hold in half the world.
